Trauma Recovery Soundtrack

I had just been crying when we shot this video. For some reason, I thought of Robin Williams. I wondered if he’d heard just the right words, could his bright light have been saved?

I had a best friend commit suicide years ago. I hadn’t seen her in years at that time, we’d had a falling out, and had just reconnected on Facebook. When I received the call, I couldn’t believe it at first.

I knew she’d been depressed for a long time. It was one of the things we had in common. But I could never picture her being gone. She was just such a beautiful, inspiring person. She sang, she danced, she painted. She was concerned with things like the meaning of life and happiness. Why did her own thoughts and feelings end her life? How do I know that could never happen to me? What could’ve been done to change her mind?

This song is my hope that someone out there might hang on one more day. Just one more. You never know what could happen in that day that could change everything. You never know when things could get better.

Lyrics to our 6 original song Trauma Recovery Soundtrack:

Tell it to the wind

How you feel your broken heart

Tell it to the wind

What you did to keep up the fight

Tell it to the wind

When your hell comes raining down

Tell it to the wind

So you don’t keep it inside

You thought you’d never be here

Living on the blindside

Now life is just a horse and rope

Dragging you behind

Tell it to the wind

How you feel your broken heart

Tell it to the wind

What you did to keep up the fight

Tell it to the wind

When your hell comes raining down

Tell it to the wind

So you don’t keep it inside

You never talk about it

Those doublethoughts you save

But you could just get over it

If you could only say…

Tell it to the wind

How you feel your broken heart

Tell it to the wind

What you did to keep up the fight

Tell it to the wind

When your hell comes raining down

Tell it to the wind

So you don’t keep it inside

You can’t sleep at night

And you don’t know why

You never eat right

And you don’t know why

Tell it to the wind

How you feel your broken heart

Tell it to the wind

What you did to keep up the fight

Tell it to the wind

Before the reaper comes around

Tell it to the wind

So you don’t keep it inside

Tell it to the wind

So you don’t keep it inside

Words can really change a mind, just gotta find the right time to intercept. A song with a type of fighting chance words can make all the difference when it resonates right. Sometimes even just getting a chance to get the words out even to the wind, can make a small change. You captured it. Thank you for your song.
